UXM

Dear prospective applicant,

Thank you for your interest in our study program "User Experience Design".

a) We have a FAQ section on our website where the most important questions around the application process, scholarships, etc. for applicants are addressed:

https://www.thi.de/en/studies/application/master-application#c6162

b) For students from abroad, please also check here:

https://www.thi.de/en/studies/application/masterapplication-from-abroad

Applicants who did not acquire their Bachelor's Degree in the Federal Republic of Germany have to apply twice.

1) Submit documents at uni-assist (https://my.uni-assist.de/ ). Uni-assist will check them and return a preliminary inspection documentation (in German: Vorprüfungsdokumentation, VPD), which contains information regarding an applicant's entitlement to study in Germany. The VPD then has to be submitted at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt.

!!! Attention: In case your relevant pre-studies were acquired in China, India or Vietnam you need an APS certificate in order to apply at uni-assist!!!

Deadlines for applications for the summer term: We recommend submitting the documents at uni-assist until 5th of December as the VPD then has to be submitted at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt until 15th of January at the latest.

Deadlines for applications for the winter term: We recommend submitting the documents at uni-assist until 1st of June as the VPD then has to be submitted at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt until 15th of July at the latest.

Application at uni-assist is possible during the whole year, you don't have to wait for the application period to start.

2) Apply online at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (https://www3.primuss.de/cgi-bin/bew_anmeldung/index.pl).

The application period for the summer term (starting 15th of March) is from 15th of November to 15th of January. The application period for the winter term (starting 1st of October) is from 2nd of May to 15th of July.

There you will have to upload all the necessary documents including your VPD. You can still upload documents within the respective periods (there will be deadlines per document in the upload area) after you sent your application online (there is no need to send hardcopies for an application).

c) As for the UXD program, all the details are given in the „study and examination regulations“ of our Master on User Experience Design (UXD), which can be found here:

Statutes User Experience Design Master (thi.de)

* Art. 3 describes the qualification requirements in detail

* Art. 4 provides information about our assessment test (we don’t have a real test - you only need to upload examples of your prior work (PDF, link to online portfolio, etc.)).

d) When you start the application, you find a form “curricular analysis” - here you can add extra-curricular activities, like programming or design competencies obtained outside your undergrad program. We would like to remind you that without basic programming and design competence (obtained either in your first degree or outside in practical work) you are not eligible for admission.

GRE is not required. The selection of the applicants is based on the suitability procedure.

Application period for the summer term (starting mid of March) will be from November 15th to January 15th.

Application period for the winter term (starting beginning of October) will be from May 2nd to July 15th.

You always have to apply online (https://www3.primuss.de/cgi-bin/bew_anmeldung/index.pl )!
