Self-registration using the Yubico Authenticator app
Before registration:

Install the app Yubico Authenticator via the Corporate Portal

Registering your YubiKey:
- Open the website https://account.microsoft.com/ in Microsoft Edge. Do not use Firefox.
- Sign in with your THI email address.

3. Go to “My Account” → “Security info” and click on “Add sign-in method”.
4. Now select “Microsoft Authenticator” and click on “Set up another authenticator app”.

5. Now add the account. A QR code for registration will be displayed. Keep this window open and in the foreground as it is required for the next steps.
6. Open the previously downloaded Yubico Authenticator app and connect your YubiKey to your laptop.
7. Open the “Accounts” section and click on “Add account” on the right.
8. Select the method “Scan QR code”. Make sure the QR code next to the Yubico Authenticator app is visible and not overlapping with the app window. Save the account after the QR code has been successfully scanned.

9. Enter the code displayed in the Yubico Authenticator app on the Microsoft website.
10. On the Microsoft website, select “Add sign-in method” and then “Primary key”. Click on “Next” to start setting up the primary key.

11. Now click on “Change” and select “Security key” next.

12. Now set a personal PIN for your security key and enter it.
13. Now tap your connected security key to complete the setup.
14. Now assign a descriptive name to your primary key so that you can uniquely identify it later.
15. Your YubiKey is now set up.
